Random Thoughts 5 weeks out from the February bar exam...
I'm behind where I need to be, but feel okay about my ability to catch up based on my study schedule and the amount of time that's left. I'm finishing up MBE topics today... saved Property for last because I absolutely LOATHE property and have been avoiding it as long as possible.
Does anyone actually like property? I'm not sure I could trust someone who likes property... it ain't right.
I'm going home this afternoon for a long weekend since (it just occurred to me that I'm not sure if I ever mentioned I was back in Chicago. I've been here since right after Christmas). I'm a little worried about having way too many distractions and trying to see way too many people and not getting enough studying done, but I'm hoping that having someone else to cook dinner will help... and the fact that the dogs wake up at 6 AM will mean there is no sleeping in. I haven't seen Dirk in a month, I hope he remembers me!
Gratuitous Dirk pic since I mentioned him...
Waiting for dinner. Or trying to hide because he got in trouble. He seems to get in trouble a lot. Whoops.
I was supposed to go home last night, but got a last minute interview yesterday afternoon. Why is it that these things always seem to come up when I'm leaving town? Maybe I should plan some more trips if I want more interviews. The interview went really well... It's a small firm that does a couple different things, some of which I'm familiar with and some I'm not, but that I think I'd be able to pick up pretty easily. Second round interviews will be in the next few weeks, and I'm cautiously optimistic.
Related - thanks for all the input on my last post. I know I don't blog much anymore but I do appreciate the thoughtful replies when I do.
I'm off to study... It always comes back to the damn bar exam, doesn't it?
I haven't met with my tutor yet, but that's on the schedule for Saturday. Apparently he's taken on quite a few more students since the last time he tutored me, and the only times he's had available are 7:00 on Saturday night. Can you think of any way you'd rather spend a Saturday night other than studying for an optional bar exam that you don't even really have to take?!

And a random pic from the beach in November that I never shared...
He's grown a bit since then but I love the picture!

I can't imagine taking the February bar exam. This time of year I just want to hide in bed and go on a netflix binge. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteHaha, that's true. It's actually nicer than taking it in the summer though. No pool or beautiful weather or outdoor events to tempt me away from studying. It pretty much sucks any time you do it though, no question!
DeleteDirk looks super elegant on the beach. Love it.
ReplyDeleteOh, and YOU CAN DO EEEET. Keep on, keeping on.
