Bar Exam

Yesterday I had Court in the morning, so I got to sleep in a little. I worked out, showered, got dressed, went to court, and then spent the remainder of the day in the office.
Today I'm in the office all day.

A regular Tuesday and Wednesday.

Yesterday and today are also the Illinois Bar Exam, and for the first time since February 2010 I'm not taking it.
Who knew two days in the office could be 9000x better than the alternative?
Feels good.

Congrats to everyone who made it through yesterday and today. Hopefully it's the last time you have to do that.

Wardrobe Help

This post is a pretty dumb white girl problem but I'm hoping someone will have a brilliant suggestion for me...

I wear pantyhose/tights at least 4 days a week. Oftentimes more than that because I wear them out with dresses/skirts on Friday and Saturday nights.

I have tons of them. Regular sheer/nude hose, opaque tights, patterned tights, etc. They are currently shoved in a drawer with my socks, and driving me crazy. If I want to wear a certain pair with a certain suit or outfit, I have to pull out every single one and dig through them. There has got to be a better way to store them.

I was thinking something like one of these belt/scarf hangers....

But I can see them slipping out and being even more of a mess. So maybe need something with clips?

My mom has one of these things for drying stuff that is hanging in the laundry, so maybe it could work for storage...
Problem of course with this is that I'd have to get two of them and I don't really have anywhere to put something that big. I don't have a laundry room and my closet is stuffed to the brim.

And I don't have the space for any sort of a drawer organizer.

Anyone have a solution that works for you?

First toy for new baby!

First of all - is there anything more terrifying than when you open up your iphone and the camera is reversed and staring right back at your face? omg.

Yesterday my roommate and I went to Petco to pick up a few things for his insane cat. She's sweet as can be but I'm not kidding, she's nuts. After watching several episodes of My Cat From Hell (not joking, we really did watch several of these) we realized that she's just bored and needs to be exercised/entertained. Why this never occurred to us before, I don't know. I'm not a cat person, I didn't know they needed to be exercised. I thought that was the whole point of a cat? It snuggles sometimes but generally wants to be left alone. Well not this cat.
So we bought a laser pointer and one of those feather on a stick things so we can exercise her without leaving the couch. Ah, America.
I also bought one of those running water fountain things because she has a running water fetish. I seriously have to kick her out and shut my bathroom door to brush my teeth.

Offff courseeeeee while we were there I had to just stop and see if there were any dog toys that caught my eye.  And I know you're all shocked that I picked up the squeaky dinosaur. But c'mon how could I not?!

I also picked up a multicolored squeaky duck. And last week I might have picked up two collars. Maybe.

For a dog that isn't born yet.

Totally normal.

Team Brenna!

If you follow me on twitter you've heard me talk about my friends Courtney and Evan, whose baby Brenna was born just before Christmas.

Evan and Courtney and I went to college together and I met Courtney through my ex-boyfriend when I was a senior in high school and she was a freshman at UofI. We've been friends ever since. Courtney and Evan got married a few years ago and have an adorable son Connor and now Brenna. Brenna was born with an extremely rare skin condition called Harlequin Ichthyosis. She was very very sick at first but is about 6 weeks old now and got to leave the NICU and go home last week!
You can read all about Brenna at Courtney's blog, Blessed by Brenna.

Several of Courtney and Evan's friends have put together a team, Team Brenna, to run the Illinois Marathon in Champaign (home of the University of Illinois) on April 28th. I hate running and there is no way in hell I could ever finish a full or half marathon, but I think I may be able to run/walk 6.2 miles through the wonderful city of Champaign to show my support for Team Brenna. I've never run more than 5 miles before, so I've got my work cut out for me. I did sign up for a 10k once, but I cheated and skipped about a mile and a half of it. HA. I will try my hardest not to cheat this time. No promises though.
I'm just bummed that our favorite disgusting college bar Kams probably isn't a sterile enough environment to take Brenna after the race. Ha!

The outpouring of prayers that have come from people on twitter and blogs for Brenna has been amazing, keep em coming!
