I kept a spreadsheet of Elle's weights starting when she was 30 pounds at 10 weeks. I have a feeling Dirk is going to be a lot bigger than Elle, so I'm excited to compare their two charts!
I have to carry him outside because he will pee the second he wakes up/gets out of the crate, and it can sometimes be a long wait for the elevator/down 52 floors, down a hall, through the parking garage, and then out to the dog run. So to avoid having to clean up accidents, I just carry him out. He is walking back in on the leash though and is doing really well, considering Monday night was the first time he had ever been on a leash!
I'd like to think that my upper body soreness today is from doing really heavy push presses at CrossFit yesterday, but I think it has to do with carrying a 4 legged wiggle worm.
Most of the pics I have of him are either blurry or sleeping... if he's awake it's party time.
I got a fairly fancypants new camera from my aunts for Christmas. I really need to learn how to use it other than on Auto. But the Auto pics are pretty good...
LOVES eating my hair/earrings/watch
Thinks that I'm a jungle gym.
And sleeps a lot
And in case anyone is wondering how Avery Jenkins feels about the newest addition...
He's been sleeping pretty well and doesn't mind going in his crate. I've found that if I wait until he's about to be asleep anyway to put him in the crate he's too tired to whine/cry and he'll just crash in there. Yesterday when I got home from the gym and went to get him out of the crate to go outside he seemed genuinely annoyed at me for waking him up. I ended up being too big of a wimp with Elle and gave up on the crate and let her sleep with me, and I'd really like to keep him crated and out of my bed, so I hope this keeps up!
Speaking of sleeping, just got this pic on my phone and died at the cuteness.
Precious.
ReplyDeleteSo cuteeee! Glad he likes the crate. Boy sleepovers are not a fun as girl sleepovers.
ReplyDeleteThe cuteness kills me.
ReplyDeleteHe's so cute!!
ReplyDeleteHe's absolutely adorable!!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of him on the huge (for now!) bed!
love him!! sooo cute!!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had been strong & stuck with crate training the dingo.
This makes me want to get another puppy!
ReplyDeleteSo adorable! Stay strong with the crate training. Mine still go in theirs voluntarily, even though I don't close the door anymore.
ReplyDeleteugh you clip the ears? cruel much..and you live in an apt? and have a great dane..and you go to the gym after af ull day work? wow what a life of exercise this poor animal must get..people like you should have cats only..
ReplyDeleteugh you exist and spend your life making us hear about it? cruel much..
DeleteYayyyyy, I know we've all been waiting for the haters to start! :)
DeleteTALLV - You're a moron, your grammar is atrocious, and your lack of comprehension of how upper and lower case letters work gives me a headache.
DeleteYou can kindly go to hell now. KTHXBAI.
What a handsome pup he is! I'm so excited that you have another dog in your life again! He's definitely going to be a big guy, but a lovey too!
ReplyDeleteHeh, Tallv clearly doesn't know you or know about great danes and that they are lazy. GOD YOU WORK LONG HOURS AS AN ATTORNEY AND KEEP A DOG COOPED UP YOU ARE SO CRUEL YOU MISERABLE DOG OWNER HOW DARE YOU.
ReplyDeleteUgh...tell haters to suck it. Anyone that followed your Elle woods posts would never question your dedication to pet ownership. Dirk is ridiculously handsome. Please update with pics regularly
ReplyDeleteRight? So dumb. Thank you, he's pretty cute! I think my phone is going to explode from taking so many pics, ha.
DeleteI see this in your future with Dirk: http://jezebel.com/5897353/adorable-sleepy-puppy-is-in-no-mood-to-deal-with-adorable-slippery-floor
ReplyDeleteHe is SO handsome, I love him! Please feel free to put tons more pictures up.
ReplyDeletesuch a cute little dude! as a total dork for data, i would love if you posted a graph with the elle and dirk growth curves once he stops growing. cannot even imagine how much energy it takes to keep up with a 22.5 lb puppy!!! (my full grown dog weighs 3lbs)
ReplyDeleteI love puppies! I would have 10 dogs if it were socially acceptable. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteI love this post!!! Dirk is so cute! The "wait until they're asleep to put them in the crate" method works great!!! That's how I got Yankee to stay in his crate. Keep it up!
