It's about abortion.

The video is worth a watch, but I just added a little paragraph about my thoughts on the video and abortion in general after. I basically 100% agree with Rep. Jackie Speier, who said:
“To think that we are here tonight debating this issue, while the American people, if they are listening, are scratching their heads and wondering “what does this have to do with me getting a job? What does this have to do with reducing the deficit?” The answer is nothing at all.”
My thoughts:
Yes, yes, YES.
I am a conservative. I almost always vote Republican. I would never ever get an abortion, because I believe life begins at conception. And I think Rep Speier is absolutely right here. Bottom line I am a FISCAL conservative. My political views: Get people jobs, reduce the deficit, and stay the hell out of their doctors offices and vaginas. Smaller government people. Smaller government in every single aspect of life. Not smaller government when we’re talking about banks but bigger government when we’re talking about what you can decide to do with your reproductive health. SMALLER GOVERNMENT.
p.s. - as always, love to hear your thoughts. just don't be an asshole. or I will be an asshole right back, and trust me, I'm a bigger asshole than you.
Oh and feel free to e-mail me if you wanna chat about this or anything and don't wanna leave a comment. I might not get back to you until next week, but I will! legallyfabulous1@gmail.com

It is ALWAYS so refreshing to read words from a conservative blogger. sometimes I think we're in the minority, and we probably are. But I completely agree. Government is too big. And it scares me.
ReplyDeleteAgreed! p.s. I love assholes:)
ReplyDeleteCan I get an AMEN! You and I have very similar philosophies on life. I am a conservative and vote Republican. I would never have an abortion either, because of the very same reason. But, who am I to judge what another woman decides is right for her life or tell her what to do with your life. And, definitely not the government. I tend to describe myself as fiscally conservative and socially liberal/moderate. Government is too big - soon we will look across the job market and more jobs will be supported by the government than the private citizens. NOT what capitalism was founded on.
ReplyDeletePolitical speech is over. Good luck next week! I have several friends taking in SC next week. I am not looking forward to studying myself. You will rock it!
This is my first visit to your blog and I'm finding it a little hard to believe that you believe life begins at conception but think that getting people jobs and reducing the deficit are more important than saving the lives of the children that are being killed by legalized abortion. Please tell me if I read you wrong or if this is really what you're saying.
ReplyDeletei don't want obamacare in my gina either.
ReplyDeleteI agree with this x1000000. I'm fiscally conservative, socially liberal. How about, instead of insisting that a woman have and raise a child, we help her find a job so she could support said child if she decides keeping the child is the best option for her?
ReplyDeleteYes. Amen. Yes. I love that you speak your mind so freely Legally Fab and couldn't agree more. Good luck with the studying!
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched the video yet, but I am very liberal and I appreciate what you are saying too. Debating and legislating abortion is not a productive way for our representatives to spend their time when there are other issues to work on. Roe v. Wade has been around for almost 40 years and it seems pretty unlikely at this point that the Supreme Court will ever overturn it or that successful legislation will be passed to override it. I think that the people who are against abortion should invest their efforts/money into education, support and ministry programs that support what they believe in. (Note, in this comment when I say abortion, I mean abortion in general. Possible Govt-funded abortion is another topic for another day.)
ReplyDeleteYou agree with Speier 100% and I agree with you 100%! Will probably be stealing this post to share later, so thanks in advance!!
ReplyDeleteDITTO. Thanks for sharing. Seriously.

ReplyDeleteI really agree with everything you've said. I'm also a fiscal conservative and believe in small government. Abortion is not a choice I ever want to have to consider, but I don't want anyone else making that decision for me.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree with this post more. Love!!! Xo
ReplyDeletebahahha @EKM
ReplyDeletei agree, duh.
good luck next week, i'm praying for us! i know i need it for surez.
Abortion would never be an option for myself. I made the decision to have sex knowing that if everything fails that I take responsibility for that child. But I believe that Obama/government has no right to be up in people's vag.
ReplyDeleteYou know I am just as fiscally conservative as you are. Which is why I don't think my tax dollars should be funding Planned Parenthood.
ReplyDeleteI love that you aren't afraid to post about stuff like this.
I love this. I wouldn't do it, but I don't think others should be telling me, or anyone else, what they can or can't do with their own body. I don't know their stories and they have their own reasons for doing what they do. Thanks for posting this!
