Own It

PSA -

Starting out an e-mail/letter/tweet/or blog post with "I'm not judging anyone, but..."

is basically code for "Here's where I go off judging people but don't hold me accountable and I'd like to assuage my guilt for being judgmental when I claim not to be"

Just own it.

  3. "Not that there's anything wrong with it, but..."

Eh! When commenting on people and/or behavior, the words "but" and "however" are generally employed to veil judgement.

  9. No background to this post. Just a general statement that if people are going to be bitchy, they should just own up to being bitchy.

  12. The other day I sat at dinner with my girlfriends talking about why I don't want kids right after I get married, and my friend who just had a baby was sitting right next to me. Whoopsies! No offense taken, she knows that's just who I am.
