Heading back to Chicago

I'm heading back to Chicago tonight.... leaving 50 degrees and sun shining Dallas to head back to the frozen tundra. BUT it actually isn't that frozen! The high on Friday is 50 degrees in Chicago, which is VERY welcome news for all those who plan on donning a skimpy sequined frock to ring in 2011.

(I currently have no plans for ringing in the new year, but I have several friends who are in the same boat so if it comes down to it I might have people over to my place (yay for not spending money on cabs!))

While I'm sad to leave home, I'm ready to get back and get my life in order. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that I've gained at least 5 pounds while home for 4.5 short days, and I'm eager to get back in the gym tomorrow and get it off. I'm not thrilled about getting back and studying for the bar exam, but I do love a nice routine, and having work/the gym/studying in combination with not drinking much is a situation I thrive in (yeah yeah yeah... I know. Think about how together I'd be if I stopped drinking altogether! Or even just one last night a week! Or went out and stuck to a two or three drink limit instead of 8 or 9 drinks and 3 or 4 shots! But how boring would that be? So boring!).

So while I'm excited to get my butt in gear... today is not tomorrow yet, so for now there is one of these combo meals calling my name....

Mmmmm.

I'll be back with a Christmas recap later this week!

  2. Have a safe trip back! I do better on a schedule too, I never was able to get into working out or lose weight until I started working full time. When I was unemployed I just could never find the time between my tv watching and beer drinking to hit the gym. Good luck with studying!

  4. Drive safely, LF! Few things are as a grand as some sweet tea, a chicken sandwhich, and waffle fries from the Chick-fil-a.
