Work Out Wednesday

It's been two weeks since the bar. I've worked out twice. Working out only twice in 14 days hasn't happened since I was in Europe last summer and that was all I could get in. So what's the deal now?

Well, to be honest, I have nothing to do.
And when I have nothing to do, I do nothing.

When I had an 8 hour day at work followed by 3 hours at class or some variant of that schedule M-F this semester, I had no problem getting to the gym. I would come home, change, and head back out the door. Didn't have a problem with it. That was just my routine. That's what I did.

But when I have nothing to do besides lay around all day, and maybe run to the post office? I can't seem to manage it.

And the half marathon is in 4 weeks.
This is bad. Very bad.

  1. I am doing the same damn thing. Worked out twice since the bar. No job in sight. Need to get a part time job or something but I cant think of any part time job that wouldnt be depressing after being in school so long.

  2. I'm the same way. When I was unemployed it was like pulling teeth for me to run 3 days a week. I was doing couch to 5k, those runs were for like 20 minutes. Somehow, I couldn't fit 20 minutes of running into my packed schedule of watching tv and feeling sorry for myself...oh and of course stuffing my face with brownies, ice cream, etc. Now, I get up at 5:30 am to get a run in before work. 4 days a week. Just because we're smart girls doesn't mean that what we do makes any sense!

  3. I love your blog....I'm a recent law grad too who also seems to skip the gym everyday because it's very hard to get off the couch when you really don't have to be anywhere.

  4. I cannot wait to have nothing to do again... ie, go back to school. It's my last semester. I am looking forward to getting a ton of blogging and facebook stalking done during class, followed by ploppin my ass on the couch after class and watching a ton of TV and Netflix movies. Awesomeness.

  5. It is just so much easier when you have a schedule!! Otherwise, at least for me, nothing gets done. The busier I am, the more efficient I am!

And get your booty in gear girl, one month from TODAY!! :) I will get to see you that weekend, right?!?!

  7. It is much easier with a schedule, but the gym is fabulous and can break up a long streak of monotony and you can meet so many people there! I once met a guy who lived in Germany for 6 years because his dad was a two star general in the army. We ended up dating for a little while and he's still an amazing friend. So, who knows...maybe you'll meet an amazing friend or maybe even someone who can offer you a job.
