Weigh-In Wednesday is now WORKOUT WEDNESDAY

Weigh-in Wednesday is going to be postponed for the next couple of weeks. There has just been too much going on and my eating has been out of control and wah wah wah it's my blog I do what I want damn it.

SO - instead of posting about a weigh-in today, I'm going to write about my PLANS!

I tend to lose weight during finals (because I don't really study and finals = no classes = time for the gym), so I'm thinking that studying for the bar this summer is going to be like one big finals session?! And by the time I go take the bar I'll be skinny and glamorous like a super model

So anyway, I'm going to keep tracking my weight and inches on every Wednesday just like I've done since January of 2009, but I'm not going to start reporting the pounds so much anymore...  more reporting my running/fitness/life progress and hopefully we'll have some good weigh-ins in the process. Sound good? Good.

And now on with the plans!

I e-mailed my friend D.A.R over at Just Another Day In Our Midwest Paradise because I knew she started training for some races last summer when she was also studying for the bar. And ALSO because I know she recently signed up for the Chicago 1/2 marathon in September.... So I was kinda running the idea of registering it by her and also put up a gchat status that said "anyone wanna run the 1/2 marathon in September with me?"
and like 5 people responded right away that they were already running, and then I got an e-mail from my friend Jason that said "Do the Proud to Run 10K with me in June, and then we'll do the 1/2 together in September, I already registered."

I am obviously easily talked into things, since I signed up for Proud to Run today and will be signing up for the 1/2 ASAP. So not only will I be running a 1/2 marathon in September, I'll also get to meet one of my favorite bloggers when I do it, YAY!

The "Proud to Run" 10k is a big event on Gay Pride Weekend here in Chicago. I've talked to a couple people who have run it before and they said it's a ton of fun. It starts at 8:04 on Saturday morning (anyone know what the significance to the 8:04AM start time is? I'm sure there is one, I just have no idea what it is.) But Jason said tons of people do the race in drag and then you can just go straight to the gay pride street fest after, which is right by my house and SO much fun. I am really looking forward to it now!

And I think a 10k in June will be great for me... I will have to run while studying for the bar all summer, I can take my time working up to the 1/2 marathon, etc.

Now I have a plan, I just need to implement it... eeek!

  1. I keep tellin' ya girl... become a vegan and the weight will DROP off. Add exercise to the mix and you'll have to make sure you don't lose too MUCH weight! It's much easier and much more fun than you think! :)

  2. Having lived with someone who studied for the bar I think that running will be a fantastic stress reliever!! If you have a gym that's open at all hours this helps for when you want to run after dark. I like to run later on and it's not safe to run by myself. I'm looking forward to the updates!!
