It is now less than SIX weeks away!!!!
What? Graduation, obviously.
Going along with graduation I've had to make some BIG decisions.
Huge.
Where to take the bar?
How to pay for the bar?
How will I decide between my multiple job offers (HA!)
But none of these decisions comes close to the biggest decision I've had to make in my 25 (almost) short years thus far....
If you follow me on twitter, you already know the answer... WHAT SHOES SHOULD I WEAR FOR GRADUATION?!
I decided long ago that for graduation I would wear my very first ever pair of Christian Louboutin's. Then I had to decide WHICH PAIR?!
When I first laid eyes on these babies, I gasped audibly. And no, I'm not joking.
I want them SO SO BAD. They would be the perfect ever graduation shoe for this Legally Blonde wannabe (some of you are loving me right now. Most of you are probably rolling your eyes and wanting to stab me. It's fine).
If you've read this blog for any amount of time at all, or if you know me in real life, or if you follow me on twitter, you know that these shoes are just SO ME.
However - that's a LOT of money to spend on a pair of shoes. A LOT. And a pair of shoes that I'll only wear a couple of times at most. Granted, this is a CELEBRATION! But... still...
so that's why I started leaning towards these beauties:
Also SO beautiful... but black. Able to be worn to work. Could be worn to all sorts of places that pink glitter is not appropriate.
So I chose the black patent. I love love love them. And I know I will love them forevssss
My heart is still lusting for the pink glitter, don't get me wrong....
I ordered them online today because Neiman's was having a wonderful little free gift card with purchase dealio... but I still have 5.5 weeks to change my mind.
Did I make the right decision?!?!?!

I would loveee the pink glittery ones!!!! I think I'm Legally Blonde's brunette sister! (: The black peeptoes are also way cute though and definitely much more practical.
ReplyDeleteNow I want to see a picture of your dress!!!!
Yayy for graduation!! I am in the same boat! I graduate on May 1st and I am just now trying to figure out what dress to buy and what shoes to buy!
ReplyDeleteI really love the ones you chose! They are sooo cute! Good luck with the rest of law school and congrats on graduating! :)
I also would love to see a picture of the dress. I LOVE the shoes.
ReplyDeleteHow much did those set you back? Any chance Neimans had a killer sale to go with that gift card? I am thisclose to taking the red sole plunge - but need a little bit of financial inducement. Ha.
LOVE the pink ones!!!! The black peep toe is MARVELOUS!! I think if it was me I would go pink and then wear the shoes again for new years and other assorted fun events that will be coming up but I also understand the need to be practical
ReplyDeleteOMG I love the PINK ones! Sister-girl after my own heart! Love them!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the pink ones but think the black ones would be better. Have the pink ones be your second pair. Please say I can come over and look at them when they arrive. I promise not to salivate on them.
ReplyDeleteThis is the best post EVER.
ReplyDeleteI love them both however the pink are fabulous for such a special event. The other pair that I love are the CL peep toe in turquoise, saw them on the bottom of the link you posted for the pink ones...made me think of your mom :)
ReplyDeleteBoth are TDF...but I think you made an amazing, classic choice that will serve you well :) You can save the pink glitter as a reward for when you win your first big case or finish your first big project at work!
ReplyDeleteLove the pink ones! I wanted them for my wedding but got vetoed by el mother-o ... I know they aren't practical but I vote pink sparke-ly!
ReplyDeleteI think I just died and went to shoe heaven. I want the pink ones! Too bad my lovely deformed ankle won't let me wear something like that. Oh and my bank account haha.
ReplyDeleteSo I totally agree. I bought my first pair of Jimmy Choos last year (saved up for-EVER to buy them). I made my voice of reason friend come with me to ensure that I didn't buy anything with feathers or something. I knew that if I was going to be buying a pair of shoes that cost that much money, they better be awesome.
ReplyDeleteI originally wanted some Louboutins because they are my DREAM shoe. However, when I tried them on in Saks I died a little death. They did not fit at all. I hope you have some narrow feet! I felt like an ugly stepsister and not at all like Cinderella. Sigh. It was not meant to be.
I bought black snakeskin embossed peep toe mary jane (phew). Stacey from What Not To Wear has the same pair. I bought a peep toe even though a female partner at the firm I used to work for said she hated seeing peep toes on Summers. She said that you have to look like a lawyer, not like you want to marry one. So, even though I know I won't be able to wear my Jimmys around her, I bought them anyway and haven't looked back. I wear them at least once a week.
So while 4.5 inch platform patent peeptoe Louboutins may be a little too sexy for conservative firms/jobs (who has those, anyway??), I say work 'em!
Ok I love love LOVE the pink ones... but the black ones are sexy as can be. I vote, regretfully, black. But man... the pink.
ReplyDeleteUmmm you are going to LOVE THEM. I wish you had smaller feet so I could walk around your condo in them when I come visit. GAH!
ReplyDeleteYou made the right choice. Those pumps (is that what they are called? I try to pretend I know the lingo) are some kind of awesome.
ReplyDeleteI love the peeptoes you ordered - they're sexy but classic at the same time and will go with everything. I think it's good to start the collection with basics and then add "fun" shoes later on. I never went all out for graduations (or got any presents, boo) so I totally missed out!
ReplyDeleteNever look back....they are perfection. I'm dying for you and maybe coveting, just a little. They are gorgeous, wear them in good health always!!!
ReplyDeleteim searching for some gorgeous hot pinks numbers for my grad in...drum roll......45 days. im to cheap for louboutin (also my dogs will eat them. Why spend 500-1500 on a tog toy?) but I LOVE THEM!!!
ReplyDeleteyou def. made the right decision, the pink ones ARE fun, but a bit too much fun, ya know? they are so limited in wearing options that they just can't be worth the price tag unless your quite literally swimming in money. And you really will wear the ones you bought forever. they're gorg- soo jealous.
ReplyDeleteHi Legally Fabulous! I've been reading your blog for forever, but haven't commented! Both of these shoes are fabulous! I am in loooove with those pink sparkles, but the black patent are more work appropriate. But, seriously - they're Loubs. You can't go wrong. :)
ReplyDeleteOmigod Omigod Omigod! I LOVE those pink ones! I would say splurge on the pink, but the black ones are cute too! I guess they are more practical too!
ReplyDeleteWell.... I do love the Elle-inspired pink pair but I think the black is best. My Fiancé bought be the CL hyper prive peeptoes for Christmas and I LOVE them. Enjoy your new shoes!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic purchase! I may need some of my own for law school grad!
ReplyDeletehow did you know? i AM wanting to stab you. kidding. and you did make the correct choice. plus, you could alway DIY some glitter shoes. you know like with some spray glue and Martha Stewart glitter. yea... that'd be hot!
ReplyDeleteGet it video vixen! i would give you a hot carl while you wear those any day. or you could rim a FF HA in your graduation outfit and toss your cap in the air when your done.
