Well... I gained 2 pounds this week.
Most people would take that as motivation to get their ass to the gym (which I did 5 days out of 7 of the last week, thankyouverymuch), but the only motivation I currently have is to get my ass to McDonald's for lunch. And I'm going to.
And then after class I'm going out for beers for St. Patrick's Day.
This gain a couple pounds lose a couple pounds cycle I'm on is CRUEL. And annoying. And frustrating.
And I SO wish I could suck 4 inches off of my hips and have it disappear, never to return again.
Does anyone want to buy me lipo for graduation? I'd much appreciate it.
I know I need to cut back on my eating. But I am SO FREAKING HUNGRY all the damn time.
Will this vicious cycle ever end?
Maybe.
But today is not the day, because I am going to get a Shamrock Shake. I just can't get it out of my head.
Don't get frustrated!
ReplyDeleteOne tip that works for me... do you like tuna? I eat tuna almost everyday for lunch and it keeps me so full until dinner. Or if not tuna, anything with lots of protein.
I'm probably preaching to the choir... just trying to help! :)
Have you tried measuring inches as opposed to weight? Especially if you are working out, because building muscle will cause you to gain weight. It's cruel, I know. Good luck with achieving your goals! You can do it!
ReplyDelete3 litres of water a day and iron rich/protein heavy snacks like nuts, prunes etc. you can do it!
ReplyDeleteThe ONLY thing that has ever worked for me is becoming a vegan. I have lost 24 lbs since the new year, and it has stayed off, even through my trip to NY where I ate NON STOP at all the delish vegan bakeries and restaurants.
ReplyDeleteI have had yo-yo weight all my life... lose 13 lbs in two weeks with Atkins, gain 17 back. Lose 20 lbs from working out, gain 8 back as soon as I stop. It's so frustrating.
I eat WHATEVER. I. WANT. Whenever I want. It's amazing. Did you know oreos were vegan? I make treats of dark chocolate melted over dried cherries and almonds and eat like 10 a day. A big bowl of granola with soymilk for breakfast... toast with jelly, tofu scramble, fresh fruit... tons of calories, but it doesn't seem to matter.
Last night for dinner I had a big ass plate of hashbrowns topped with fried onions. Didn't gain an ounce.
It's worth looking into - you'll save tons of $$$ too. Check out my blog for a few recipes and tips!

LF, don't beat yourself up. A Shamrock shake sounds most fitting for St. Patty's day. Perhaps you're building muscle and that's why the weight isn't being as lost. High protein snacks and tons of walking.
ReplyDeleteNot sure about the vegan thing, GreenGal. Although I admire your advocacy/sales pitch and the dark chocolate melted over dried cherries sounds delish. However, few things are as gratifying as the occasional rare dry aged porterhouse or a bacon cheeseburger with a cold beer.
LF...you are not alone. I'm about to scream with the up and down I've been playing with the scales for what feels like months! UGH... :( Maybe it is the weather?!? LOL I'm hoping we both get off the yo-yo string really, really soon!!!!!! Good luck! I'm pulling for ya girl, because maybe if you break it, I will then!
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! I am your newest follower!

Aww don't let those two pounds get you down. I've been gaining weight again lately too. Who knew Shamrock Shakes or Hannah's Bretzel were bad for you? NOT ME! Kidding. Go treat yourself and everything will balance out again :)
