Hi everyone, Elle Woods here.
Mom has been very busy so I am taking over for the day.
Last year mom took me to a photoshoot for a new book that is coming out called "Big Dog, Small Dog."
She got an e-mail that they were looking for big dogs and small dogs to have their pictures taken, so she sent some pictures in. Obviously since I am the most beautiful girl in the entire world, they wanted me to be in the book. Mom also sent the e-mail to her law school friend who has a handsome English Bulldog named Sebastian. We thought they would want our picture together, since he's short and fat and white and I'm tall and thin and black, but they had other plans.
Here is Sebastian:
Handsome guy, huh?
So I went in and they took my picture with a little Papillon who was very cute. Bad news though - I DO NOT like the flash of the camera in the study. It is loud and bright and SCARY. So mom had to hold me by the collar so I didn't freak out. The best shots that they got were of the little Papillon standing in between my big ole feets. I hope that our picture makes it into the book!
Today my mom got an e-mail from the photographer and she sent us this shot she got of me:
I don't know if I'll be published, but oooooh weeeeee am I good looking or what?!
In November I had another photoshoot. Mom was nervous because the last one scared me pretty bad, but she figured I would do better on this one because the pictures were of us together! And she warned the photographer ahead of time so he used his least scary flash. The pictures turned out VERY cute (except mom had to put my pinch collar on me so she could hold me. that's not so cute, but it's okay).
Mom has been going back and forth on whether or not to make this blog less anonymous. She'd still keep her name a secret but she'd like to be able to show you guys the pictures we took. And she thinks that people like to read blogs with pictures more than without.
So help her out - is it a bad idea to put pictures up? Or a good idea? It's not like she blogs about confidential stuff. And you can still be anonymous with pictures, right? Hmmm....
Oh and feel free to leave comments telling me how beautiful I am.
XOXO,
Elle Woods

OMG I am freakin' dying that Elle has her own email address, hahah!
ReplyDeleteYes please, I want to see cute pictures!!
Dear Elle,
ReplyDeleteYou are just tooooo cute.
I'd love to see the pictures of the 2 of you together, but I also understand wanting privacy.
Sorry if that's not helpful!
Elle, you are simply GORGEOUS, Dahling!! I'd LOVE to see ANY picture of the two of you!
ReplyDeleteYou can most certainly be anonymous with pictures! Tell her to go for it Elle Woods. :)
ReplyDeleteTell her to do it Elle!
ReplyDeleteOh, I want to hug Elle Woods's pretty little neck!
ReplyDeleteAs far as pics you can be anonymous with them I think. Mojito Maven did it and we don't know her name, right?
Miss Woods- tell your mom to go for it! We wanna see the pictures :)
ReplyDeleteI fight this battle with myself all the time!!! I'm like what if a potential employer stumbles across my blog. It is public, ya know. So, I have put a couple of pics up in my posts so my readers can put a face with a "pen" name. And, I put an incognito pic up for my profile pic. Maybe, you could start off with something like that:) Have a great weekend!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for contributing to my dog envy :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so totally torn about the anonymity thing. I honestly wish I had never been anonymous to begin with, because now it's just a bigger deal like I am hiding something. And people might start figuring out who you are, even trying to guess who you are like it's some big exciting mystery to be solved, and purposefully linking your name to your blog, like on say legal chat forum threads about why they hate you (like the ones where people talk about how they hate me and my blog). So you then (depending on the uniqueness of your name and the popularity of your blog), your blog might turn up if you search for your name, something to consider for employment prospects I guess.
So, I don't know. No easy answers. But I know what you mean about wanting to post pictures. I love that I can post pictures, although I have gotten a slew of emails from classmates being like I had no idea that was you! Proceed with caution!
Elle, you are adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteYour friend Sebastian is pretty cute too.
usew that facebook app-like picnic? whatevs. put a "sticker" on your face to remain anonymous. thats what i do for SilverFox in old pictures!!! :) but they'll see your body. i also put a crown on his head since he's king. you could put one for queen HAAHAHAH
ReplyDeleteOh, Elle Woods I love you! I want to come visit you. I'll even leave the Preppy Puppies at home and we can just hang. You're probably as tall as me.
ReplyDeleteDear Elle, you are too sweet. And just beautiful! I understand your mom's desire for privacy. But then again, I LOVE pictures! Hope you warm up to the camera soon so we can see more of your beautiful face!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures of you Elle. You are the Greatest of Lady Dane's.
ReplyDeleteLF, the question is a tough one for us all. Ask yourself what the worst thing on the blog is and how that being public could compromise your plans/ambitions? Also, I think a few pictures can still allow you to maintain the guise of anonymity. I tend to think of the worst and reason back when confronted with situations like this. Privacy is a sacred commodity. Also, could you crop your face out of the photos? Just a thought.
Hi Elle,
ReplyDeleteOoh- I would LOVE to see more photos of you (and your family)! As you know, my human is happy to have her name & photos on my blog - although she is always careful not to put our address or too much information on where we live, etc - I guess it is a bit of a balance! In my case, back in Auckland, I had been featured in so many magazines and on TV and stuff that a lot of people knew me (and my humans) quite well already so it wasn't easy to stay completely anonymous anyway!
I know what you mean about the scary flash - I'm quite used to it coz you know I have a crazy Asian Camera Human has to take photos constantly of EVERY little thing I'm doing - so I have been used to flashing in my face since a baby puppy...but I still think studios can be a bit stressy & scary, especially because the floors are often very slippery! Some animal photographers are very good and try to do most of their shots in natural lights, so that there isn't too much flashing in our eyes - I like those best!
I hope you do make it into the book!
Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
ps. I forgot to say that it might be easier with my blog because it is mostly about ME and doggie things - so only read by doggie people - so my human doesn't talk about a lot of her own stuff there!
