Just another day in the office.

I'm at work.

I'm helping my boss edit a chapter she wrote for a CLE book/manual/whatever.

I just spent 20 minutes trying to figure out why section 10.19 didn't come before section 10.6.

Obviously I'm a big help.

Now I have to figure out how to bill those 20 minutes.

I'm going to be a great lawyer.

  1. Analyze and prepare CLE materials.

The key word to use when something takes longer than needed: Analyze.

  5. A lawyer who bills 20 minutes for 20 minutes of work isn't going to be a lawyer for very long. Bill an hour and a half and use it as an opportunity to develop your creative writing skills.
