Partner Let me upgrade you

In the words of Beyonce, it's time for me to upgrade....

I am one of those people who ALWAYS has their watch on. I have to know what time it is, all the time. For a while in high school and college I was buying semi-cheap watches (like $50-$75 each) that would end up breaking every couple of months.
If I haven't mentioned it before I am REALLY hard on pretty much everything I own. I RUIN things. That's why I buy nice things. They last longer. (I know this seems dumb to some people. Whatever.)

Since I worked at Nordstrom summers and breaks throughout college, I always used that time to stock up on nice things with my discount. I lusted after a nice Michele watch ALL SUMMER the summer before junior year of college. So did another girl who also worked with me. By the end of the summer we had talked each other into buying the watches, obviously buying them from each other so we could get the commission off of it. So we did it. We bought our beautiful watches. And in the 4.5 years since then, I have never regretted it. I LOVE that watch.

Here's a pic of the watch, from Nordstrom.com

Over this Christmas break, I noticed that the battery was dying in my watch and the time was off, so I took it in to Nordstrom. While I was there, having my scratched up but faithful watch looked at, I saw this baby:
And I died.

I tried it on, and I just knew that I had to have it.
It is actually a little bit cheaper than the original watch, but I love it even more!
SO - I sent the old watch out to have the battery replaced and the crystal face (which was pretty scratched up) replaced. My mom is going to buy the old and spruced up watch from me, so I'm going to use that money towards the new one.
I'm also going to use ebates and get 3% cash back from nordstrom.com! Wahooo! (not a member of ebates?! You should be! go to www.ebates.com, sign up, and start getting cash back when you shop online!)

I'm going to get my credit cards paid off next week (whoopsies), then order this baby. I have been wearing my Polar heart rate monitor as a watch for the last few days. ick! Can't wait for a sparkly new watch! Happy New year to Me!

  1. I think of buying sturdier (and more expensive) things as investments. Nothing wrong with that! And that was super clever of you and the coworker to help each other out commission-wise :)

P.S. I nominated you for two blog awards in an earlier post!
