I have had a headache on and off for the last couple of weeks, but today it was ON. It was so terrible, I had to skip a meeting with my professor to go home and lay down. I tried calling my doctor to schedule an appt, but their office was closed. Closed at 3:00 on a Tuesday? I want to be a doctor, they never work!
But anyway, due to my pounding head I have nothing exciting or witty to write about today.
However, I do need some suggestions!
I am going back to the ole stomping grounds this weekend for my sorority's initiation. One of my friends from my pledge class has a little sister who is a freshman, so we're going down for her initiation. I am staying with a good guy friend of mine from college. He just bought a new condo, and I want to get him a little (emphasis on little, I'm broke!) gift as a "congrats on your new place" / "thanks for letting me stay with you" gift.
So - Anyone have advice for what to get a 25 year old single guy who does NOT drink? (Otherwise I'd obviously just go with a nice bottle of whiskey or something)
All suggestions are appreciated!
A "manly" smelling candle is what I always give. Cheap, useful, and....thoughtful?
ReplyDeleteNot to self-diagnose you, but you may be having cluster headaches. I get them a lot. It's something to look into just in case! As far a gift for your friend... Maybe you could buy all the ingredients and make him a delicious dinner.. Guys always appreciate a home cooked meal. Or just bake brownies or something?
ReplyDeleteI would probably grab a couple of kitchen towels, put them in a little bowl, and fill it with chocolate chip cookies.
ReplyDeleteyou are friends with someone who doesn't drink? that's suspicious...
ReplyDeleteI love the cookie idea! Email me if you want a quick and easy recipe.
ReplyDeleteI would get the on and off headaches checked out if you are not prone to migraines.
ReplyDeleteFood is always a great gift for a sinlge guy!
Or a plant! Note- not flowers, but just a small house plant. My husband LOVES his plants, and he is quiet a manly man. Even, when people brought us plants for a house warming gift, they would say they were more for my husband than me (because they knew I would not be the one to water them!)
I would take the bottle of liquor over any of those things though! :)
*quite* not quiet!
ReplyDeleteUgghh, I feel for you having headaches like that. I've dealt with migraines for years and there is nothing worse than a bad headache.
ReplyDeleteAs far as the gift goes, maybe a nice coffee table book (photography or art) or a nice set of grilling utensils (that is, if he has a grill). Have a great day and I hope you get to feeling better!!
Headaches: Could be how your computer is situated. I had the same problem when I first started practicing.
ReplyDeleteGift: A set of nice glasses (like, juice, water, guest glasses) that are manly. Probably cheap and functional.
