I need suggestions!
I am currently ordering my textbooks for this semester from Amazon (barf, I know), and want to pick up some novels to read too! I take the bus to/from school every day, so I usually have a good hour of reading time (yay Chicago), and like to use the time to read good books that aren't for class!
I love reading stupid girly books, but also like movies about law/criminals, etc. Here are some of my favorites:
Based off of these - any suggestions for new books to read?
Thanks!
XOXO
Have you already read the whole Emily Griffin Series? "something borrowed", "Something Blue".. & etc. hmmmm what else. I have a ton of books at home but the titles escape me right now.
ReplyDeleteLast summer I read the At Home in Mitford or also called the Father Tim series. So charming! I htink there are 7 books, total, I only read 4 of them. Very quick, and good ones if you are only going to have time for a few pages at a time! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeletehave you ever read jodi picoult books? each of her books have characters that surprise you and each seem to deal with the legal system. I really enjoyed Plain Truth and The Pact the most by her! I also just finished a darling book called The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Society that had the most precious set of characters ever!
ReplyDeleteI agree with headbands and HandBags, the Mitford series is awesome as is the shop on blossom street series.
ReplyDeleteI second the recommendation for the Emily Giffin series (especially "Something Borrowed" and "Something Blue"). I also really enjoy Sophie Kinsella (I really liked "Can You Keep A Secret?")
ReplyDeleteHave you read Mating Rituals of the North American WASP by Lauren Lipton? It's a fun read. And I love the lawyer novels by Lisa Scottoline (they're all about women lawyers and they're suspenseful and funny - try Daddy's Girl first).
ReplyDeleteI loved Bergdorf Blondes!! I really haven't found a girly book to rival how cute that one is! I'm also going to have to check out some of the others on your list.
ReplyDeletenot sure how you feel about historical fictions, but i'm reading 'the alienest' right now, about murders during the early 20th century in NYC. so far so good!
ReplyDeleteI recommend 'The Thing Around Your Neck' by Chimamanda Adichie I really enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteI Love Chelsea Handler!!! HIL-arious! Have you read 'My Horizontal Life'? If not, I highly recommend it.
