More help from you, my faithful followers....

Hey everyone!
I need your help, again!
(seriously, what would I do without you?)

I am leaving TOMORROW for Dublin, yay!
I got some great recommendations from A Boston Belle about great things to do in Dublin, and I'm so excited!
My friend and I are going to be in Dublin Wed-Saturday, and then arrive at our beautiful apartment in Prague on Saturday afternoon!

Here's my current dilemma: we just got an e-mail from our Professor who is the coordinator of our study abroad program. We are taking a tour of the Czech Supreme Court and a couple other similar things on our first couple days there. This is going to be cool, but of course means that I have to travel with a SUIT! Yuck!!!

How in the world do I travel with a suit?! I do not own one of those hanging luggage things, and even if I did it wouldn't really be possible to bring it... I've got too much other luggage.
So I'm going to have to try to fold up my skirt suit and bring it with me. I'm going to bring a shell to wear underneath it (I hate button downs anyway), so I won't have to iron that, but I'm worried about being a wrinkley mess in my suit.
Any hints on how to pack it or how to un-wrinkle it once I get there?!

Also - do you think I need to wear pantyhose there?! I don't even own pantyhose that aren't black. That sounds miserable.

And what shoes should I wear? I just got a brand new pair of Stuart Weitzman pumps to wear with suits, but I don't really want to bring an extra pair of shoes to wear for one time? Would it be wildly inappropriate to wear the flats that I'm bringing anyway?! (I know, I know... a suit with flats... I'm barfing at the thought. But really I can't bring my whole closet!).

Help me out here sisters!!

  1. If you roll your suit, like you would a rug,it shouldn't wrinkle or crease because there are no folds. Lay the suit out flat and start rolling at the thickest portion of the garment (probably the waist of a skirt or the collar of a jacket. If you can roll it around something that can make this method even more effective.
A link so you know I'm not making this up.

I leave the shoe answers to those better qualified.

  2. Roll it!! You can even roll it around something like jeans/tshirts to give it a little more bulk so it won't wrinkle. Hang it up in a steamy bathroom when you get there and it shouldn't be too bad!

I refuse to wear pantyhose unless it is the dead of winter, so I may be too biased to answer that question.

And wear the pumps. Can you work them into another outfit?

  3. Bring hose. It's better to err on the side of bring dressy as compared to underdressed. They are cheap, won't take up much room, and you can always take them off and ditch them if no one else has them on.

  4. don't wear the heels. i mean, who is really going to notice you are wearing flats? and who is going to care? definitely roll the suit. you could also bring some of that spray de-wrinkle stuff. haha i don't know what its called...but it will be handy to have if ya'll don't have an iron.

  6. I've never heard about the rolling trip but it sounds like a great idea! What I always do with dresses (although I've never tried it with a suit I think it would work) is hang it in the bathroom while I'm taking a shower, so that the wrinkles steam out...it's not always perfect but usually works pretty well! I never wear pantyhose even when it's Feb and like minus 100 degrees so I guess I'm the wrong person to ask haha but I say bring the heels!
