OMG... Almost July?!

I was just looking at my calendar today while getting caught up on all the bills that came in while I was on my mini-vacay in Dallas, and I cannot believe that it's almost JULY!!!
How did that happen?! I feel like I was just home for Christmas. Yikes.

This weekend was a whirlwind of drinking and partying. It was the annual Gay Pride Fest and Parade here in Chicago, which was really fun.

Here's a pic of my friend Mario and another friend at the Street Fest on Saturday:
Mario kangoo'ed around the whole fest. It was hilarious. He was also on kangoos in the parade in a sailor outfit on Sunday. So hysterical.

Here's a pic of one of my friends before the parade on Sunday. I loved his shirt.

There was quite a bit of crazy attire and wild floats going on throughout the parade...

I haven't uploaded my pics from my camera yet, but here are some of the pics from last year. You get the idea.

Another cool thing about the parade is that a lot of politicians take part in it. The Cook County State's Attorney had a float (maybe some day I'll be in the parade on that float?! Here's hoping!), senators, aldermen, etc. I think that's the coolest part of the parade... Gay pride isn't just for gays. It's about accepting everyone. There are tons of straight people that attend the parade, families, children, etc. And while there ARE scantily clad men and some pretty crazy tranny getups, it's a really fun and accepting environment. And hilarious and drunk and super fun.

Aaaanyway... after a weekend of way too much drinking (hello second bottle of champagne before noon on Sunday), my body totally HATES me today. I had a killer workout to make up for it today... went to an ab class and stuck around for spin afterward, and feel much better now.

Now I'm off to bed. I can't believe tomorrow is the last day of June! Yikes!

  2. Those pictures are awesome! I've never made it to the parade, but promise myself I'll do it one of these years.

I look forward to reading more!
