Well I made it! I'm currently sitting at DFW waiting on my flight back to OHare.
My dad has this enormous duffle bag suitcase thingie that I managed to cram a TON of stuff into (kangoos included!!) and I shoved the rest of it into the backpack I bought for Europe.
The giant bag only weighed 46.2 pounds, so no overweight bag fees, wahoo! Of course since I checked two bags, I had to pay a 40 dollar fee to good ole American Airlines (I still can't believe they charge 15 bucks for the first bag and 25 for the second bag... Ridiculous!!), but barring any unforeseen disasters I will make it back to Chicago with all my crap.
And I just have to mention this (forgive me in advance if I offend anyone), but I am totally DYING sitting here waiting for this flight... The people waiting to go back to Chicago are SOO stereotypical Midwestern.
That being said, the people on flights back to Dallas are usually equally as hilariously "Texan," so I feel like I can say this.
But seriously, I think I can count four fanny packs from wear I'm sitting (and I'm not talkin trendy belt bags here).
Hilarious.
