"Born to Prosecute"

Today I had my oral argument for my appellate brief, which means I am now FINISHED with all legal writing classes for my law school career! YAHOOO!!!!

It went pretty well. And I got to wear pearls and a suit and look pretty and professional, which is always fun. Neither my "co-counsel" nor our opposition were very stellar, so I think they made me look good. They weren't bad, and actually probably had a better command of the issues/caselaw than I did, but they all seemed kinda nervous and fidgety while arguing.

After everyone gave their arguments, the judges (our professor and two other judges) gave comments and critiques. They mostly had positive things to say and a couple pointers. When they got to me one of the judges said that he and the other judge like to write notes to each other during the arguments and that as soon as I started talking he wrote "Born to Prosecute" to the other judge.

Not to toot my own horn... but I was pretty excited about that, since that's exactly what I want to do. It makes me really excited to be a real-life lawyer and get to wear pearls and pretty suits every day and stand up in courtrooms and talk (assuming I ever get a job, which I understand is making a pretty large assumption).

Now that that's done, I have two classes finished for this semester and three more to go. Wheee!!!

  2. FYI on the Sangria....i ended up making my own recipe by combining about 3 different ones and so far it is GOOOOD. The little taste kicked my butt. lol
    Here is what i used:
1 750 ml of shiraz red wine
    1 green apple
    1 red apple
    2 oranges
    1 2 liter of sprite
    2 tbsp of sugar
    1/4 cup brandy
1/4 cup of rum (i used brugal blanco) - - long story on that one. lol

i cut up the apples & did slices of oranges and poured in the sugar while doing a "soft" smush of the oranges with a wooden spoon. Then added the booze and the red wine and let sit in the frig for 8 hrs. an hour or two before serving i poured the 2 liter in and gave it a good stir. I also cut up a third orange into slices for the glasses. :)

Thinking next time of waiting to add all the fruit till later - but you can only do that with double batches - but the fruit right now is lethal! lol
I'm also going to try to find a new mixing liquid besides sprite, cause that does not seem like what they mix in my favorite cafe. ENJOY!! Yay Summer!
